PTA Programs/Volunteer Opportunities
Staff Luncheons/Staff Treats: help organize, set-up and clean-up the luncheon! One event is scheduled for the following months: August, September, November, January, March, May. PTA Meet & Greets: help decorate tables for PTA Meet & Greets, which is an opportunity for parents to learn more about joining the PTA. One event is scheduled for the following months: August September, October, May. These events will be scheduled during the school day.
Picture Days: assist on picture day to help the event run smoothly. A PTA board member will also be there, as well as a fully staffed photographer. Dates are tentatively scheduled as follows: 2 days in late August; 1 day early September; and a makeup day mid September. This will be during the school day.
Running Club: assist on Thursdays student run club!
Book Talk: Once a month, a student is selected to share their review of a book over the loudspeaker with Mrs. Huff. Book talks are scheduled in the mornings shortly after school begins.
Movie Night: support one of our most popular events, movie night. This will be a Friday in mid-October. This event is after school in the early evening. Set up, clean up assistance needed.
Grizzlies Got Talent: help support the talent show, scheduled for early December, with audition and rehearsal the month prior. This event is after school. Assistance with set up, clean up, music, decorating and organizing the talent acts.
Parent Lunch: This event the parents are invited to join their students on the field and have a picnic lunch, split up by grade. This will be scheduled for early December. This event is during the school day.
APEX: This is our BIG fundraiser event. Volunteer at the event. Scheduled for mid-January and is during the school day.
Parent/Child Dance: Scheduled for early February and will likely be a one-day event split amongst the grades. Plan a fun dance the kids and parents will remember. This event will be scheduled after school in the early evening. Set up, clean up and booth assistance will be needed.
Book Fair: scheduled for late March. The Book Fair will run during the school day for all grades, as well as after school on Thursday for a family day.
Cultural Night: We will showcase art, food, music, dancing, etc. highlighting our diversity and culture. You can draw from volunteers at school to showcase their culture and will also have a budget to hire some outside vendors. This will be scheduled mid-April and is after school.
Earth Day Celebration: Help the students do something during their recess to celebrate Earth Day. This year, they created band aids to help heal the earth and wrote messages. This is during the school day.
STEAM Night: This is another big and popular event that showcases the best of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. This is scheduled for mid-May and is after school.
College Field Day: volunteer to support a fun day of activities/sports for the kids!

Become a Room Parent!
As a Room Parent, you will be serving as a liaison or point of contact for your classroom. Being a room parent is one of the most enjoyable and valuable volunteer opportunities at Willow Grove. You will be an important piece in communication between the parents, the teacher and the PTA/Foundation.
